When To Book Your Newborn Session

I recommend you book your newborn photo session during your pregnancy. I will make a tentative booking, and when your baby is born, you can contact me to arrange a suitable time and day for your session.

What Is Ideal Age For Your Newborn Session

The ideal age for newborn photo session is between 5-14 days, when babies are tiny, they spend a lot of time sleeping and still curl up into cute poses similar to those when they were in mummy's belly.

After two weeks babies are a little harder to settle, they will not be as amenable to curling up or sleeping as soundly.

How Long Does A Session Take

Newborn photo session can take about 3 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding and comforting the baby to get them sleepy and happy as possible for their portraits.

How To Prepare Newborn Baby Before Session

Because we want the baby sleepy for the session, I recommend that you try to keep your baby awake for a while before the session. Trust me, it will be worth it! You can feed your baby right before the session to ensure baby is happy and sleepy.

Use Of Props

I always ask parents their color and styling preferences before actual shoot. I have a collection of blankets, wraps, baskets, hats and headbands available for parents to use. You are also welcome to bring any of your own props.

If you have any family heirlooms you would like to use in the session, please let me know so I can advise on what will work best.

What Should I Wear/Bring For Family Portraits  

I generally advise wearing simple plain tops without bold patterns and logos ( black or white always work the best).

You should definitely wear lightweight clothes as the studio gets warm.

I recommend bringing a change of clothes and some spare nappies.

There is a big surprise accident probability if you are holding your newborn during the nappy-free part of the shoot, so bring a change of clothes for yourself too ;)

I tend to always have some refreshments ready for you but you are welcome to bring your favorite snacks if you like to, in case you get really hungry.

What If My Baby Is Unsettled Or Cries 

There is a chance your baby may cry or won't fall asleep quickly.

I always do my best to make your baby feel safe and comfortable. 

Not all babies are the same. Some fall asleep in 5 mins, some take a little longer.

Do not worry if your baby has a little accident during their nappy-free time. It is totally normal. I've got plenty of fresh spare blankets for your baby to lie on. All of my blankets and props are washed after each session.

What Will My Role Be, As The Parent

I might ask you to assist in some poses. Other than that,  you can sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the photo shoot.

When Will I Receive My Images

Within 2 weeks after your session, I will email you with your password for your private online proofing gallery, where you can view and select your photos.

Your images will be ready approximately one week after you place your order.

How And When Do I Make Payment 

Newborn session fee is to be paid by bank transfer upon booking to secure your session.

The remaining amount is payable on session day. 

You can purchase extra prints/canvases or upgrade your package at any time.
